Publication Process

The Journal of Digital Communication Psychology implements a systematic, transparent, objective, and peer-reviewed publication process to ensure the quality, originality, and integrity of every published article.

The publication process consists of the following stages:

1. Manuscript Submission

Authors submit their manuscripts through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform in accordance with the journal’s Author Guidelines and Focus and Scope. Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by another journal.

2. Initial Screening

The Editor conducts an initial assessment to determine whether the manuscript aligns with the journal’s scope, meets the submission requirements, follows the prescribed formatting guidelines, and complies with publication ethics. Manuscripts may also undergo plagiarism screening using Turnitin.

3. Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to qualified reviewers with relevant expertise in psychology, communication studies, digital media, or related disciplines. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript’s originality, theoretical foundation, research methodology, analytical rigor, relevance, and contribution to the field of digital communication psychology.

4. Editorial Decision

The Editor makes the final editorial decision based on the reviewers’ recommendations and an independent assessment of the manuscript’s scholarly quality. Possible decisions include accepted, accepted with minor revisions, major revisions, or rejected.

5. Revision

Authors are required to address the comments and recommendations provided by the reviewers and Editor. Revised manuscripts must be accompanied by a clear response to the review comments. Further review may be conducted when necessary to ensure that the revisions adequately address the identified concerns.

6. Copyediting and Layout

Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting, language and reference checks, metadata verification, proofreading, and layout preparation. Authors may be asked to review the final proofs before publication to ensure the accuracy of the article.

7. Publication

Articles that have fulfilled all editorial and technical requirements are published online through the OJS platform in accordance with the journal’s publication schedule. Published articles are made available to readers in accordance with the journal’s access and licensing policies.

Throughout the publication process, the Journal of Digital Communication Psychology upholds the principles of confidentiality, objectivity, transparency, academic integrity, research ethics, and the prevention of conflicts of interest. Editorial decisions are based on the manuscript’s originality, theoretical relevance, methodological rigor, scientific validity, and contribution to the understanding of psychological processes in digital communication.

The journal is committed to ensuring a fair and rigorous editorial process that supports the advancement of knowledge in digital communication psychology.
